Why do I need profesional makeup for my wedding? To answer it simply; experience, education, and knowledge. Your MUA wants everything to be perfect just as much as you do. Which, if taken on yourself, can be quite stressful! So hand that stress over to a professional bridal makeup artist who can easily take on the task of creating a makeup look that will be as beautiful in 20 years as it will on the day of your wedding. Every product in my kit is specifically chosen for it's performance, longevity, wear, and feel. I also pay close attention to ingredient lists to avoid products that may cause "flash back" from lights and flash photography.
-
How far in advance should I book a makeup artist?I would recommend to book your makeup artist as soon as you get engaged! LOL! Or as soon as possible. Wedding planning can be stressful and expensive (so I've been told by previous brides) and since booking makeup (and hair) services seems to be the cheapest and easiest part of planning a wedding, I'd recommend to get that out of the way, and hopefully that will ease some stress.
-
What is the process to secure you for my wedding date?Once you decide to move forward and book me for your wedding day (which could be the moment you send me an email or after the trial is completed), I require a $100.00 non-refundable deposit to hold the date, and a completed bridal agreement. The deposit counts towards the total amount. The remaining amount will be due on, or before your wedding day. (Trial fee is separate)
-
When should I book a trial? And why are trials so important?I typically schedule trials about 1-2 months prior to the wedding. However, I highly recommend trying to schedule your trial on the day of a photoshoot, bridal shower, bachelorette party, etc. These events create a very wedding-like enviroment with flash photography, close friends (with opinions), food and drink, possilbe dancing, all which put the makeup to the ultimate test! Trials are incredibly important! Here's why... 2. You can asses my personality and skill level and determine if I'm the right artist for your wedding. 2. Makeup trials are like rehersal dinners. It just helps things run smoothly on the day-of! 3. It's the perfect opportunity for you to see if the Kim Kardashian makeup inspiration picture you found on pinterest is actually the makeup look you want on your wedding day.
-
What should I bring to my bridal trial?Having some photos of inspiration on-hand is highly recommended - this will allow me to collect an idea of the wedding day look you are aiming for! Also, wear a white top or shirt with an open neckline. And of course, don't forget to bring a photo of your DRESS!
-
How long will each session take? Each makeup application will take about 50-60 minutes. If you're wanting a more dramatic look, expect the session to take an hour. Even natural applications will still take about 45-50 minutes. An extra 10 minutes is typically added to each appointment to allow time for setting up before the application and/or packing up afterwards. Bridal trials often take slightly longer than an hour. Because once the initial application is done, adjustments are made which can take 10-15 minutes.
-
How many consecutive makeup applications can I book for my wedding party? The max number of applications for one artists to complete is 8. 8 applications at 50 minutes each ≈ 6.6 hours. This does not include time to set up before, clean up afterwards, or any breaks in-between sessions. Wedding day timelines rarely allow more than 6 hours for hair and makeup. If the timeline is feeling rushed, there is absolutely nothing wrong with hiring two makeup artists!
-
Do I need to hire a second makeup artist for my larger bridal party? If you've ever wondered this question, the answer is probably yes... First determine your timeline for the morning of your wedding and how much (or little) time you have for hair and makeup. Questions to ask are - What time will you be allowed into the venue? What time does everyone need to be ready by? How many people want their makeup done? If the timeline is feeling too rushed, you should absolutely hire a second (or third) artist! To help create an idea of your timeline, you should allow 15 minutes for the artist to arrive and set up, 50 minutes for each application, and 60 minutes for the bride. Timeline examples for one artist: 4 applications ≈ 3.75 hours from arrival to the last client 6 apps ≈ 5.4 hrs 8 apps ≈ 7.0 hrs 10 apps ≈ 8.75 hrs
-
Should my artist stay for touch ups?Touch up services are available upon request and must be booked in advance, prefereably along with the inital bridal booking. There will be an extra charge of $60 per hour for touch up services. The products I use are specifically chosen for their longevity and wear. However, it's ultimatley up to you and I can stay as long as you need me!
-
Will my makeup last all day? What if I cry?Absolutely. A true professional makeup application will last the full duration of your event. Not only are the eyes and skin prepared with the proper skin care and priming products, but you will be set and finished with professional powders and sprays that seal in and help fix the makeup in place. All the products in between the prepping and sealing are chosen for their longevity and high performance in all tear/sweat and weather conditions.
-
Will I be your only event on the day of my wedding?Due to high volume of clients there may be other appointments on your wedding day. However if you have booked already and paid your deposit, your time will not be cut short! Brides will always be a priority! If other clients are booked on the date you inquire about, I will always let you know. Once you confirm your wedding date and our timeline is set, I may book other clients before or after our time together. Please book touch up services along with the initial bridal booking. Weekend appointments go fast and I cannot guarantee afternoon/evening availability unless bridal and touch up services are booked together!
-
How do I prepare my skin for my makeup application? One to two weeks prior to your makeup appointment, make sure that you are consistent with your skincare regimen by cleansing, moisturizing, and wearing SPF daily. Drink plenty of water. Use a gentle exfoliator on your skin two or three times a week. Clean up your brow shape by either tweezing, waxing or threading. On the day of your appointment, come with a clean face and NO SPF. Ingredients in SPF like talc and aluminum are notorious for creating flashback. If our appointment is in the evening or you did not get the chance to cleanse your face, I will have makeup wipes ready to use.
-
Where do makeup applications take place? We have 3 options... 1. The Venue for bridal bookings. Or wherever you plan to get ready. 2. Your place. Keep in mind the lighting situation wherever you are; the better the lighting, the better the makeup application will be. It's one of the most important factors that determines how well your makeup matches your skin! 3. A studio or salon. This is a popular option when taking studio photos or if you would like to book a makeup session directly before or after your hair appointment. *You must get approval from the studio or salon owner prior to the day of our appointment.

How far in advance should I book a makeup artist?I recommend you book your makeup artist the moment you know your event date! Weekends are my most popular time and are usually fully booked 4-8 months out, while I'm currenlty in the process of scheduling the 8-12 month range. Weekdays, on the other hand, are more open and have a higher chance of availability!

What makeup do you use?I use a wide range of products from many different brands. All products are tested for quality, performance, logevity, flawlessness on camera, and in person, prior to making it into my collection. I do not solely use one makeup brand as I believe each brand has a distinct product that they pride themselves on or that I find to favor in. A few of my top brands to use are: Estee Lauder, Makeup Up For Ever, M.A.C, KVD, Bobbi Brown, Morphe, Tarte, Cinema Secrets, and NARS.

How can I improve my complexion? (acne, rosacea, texture, etc.)"There's many ways to improve these common complextion issues! Here's a few. 1. Drink lots and lots of water. There’s a reason you’ve heard this so many times… only because it’s TRUE. Aim to drink a gallon a day for two weeks before your wedding or event. Your skin will ✨glow✨ 2. (plz don’t hate me) Cut out 100% of all dairy 3 weeks before your wedding or event. Your skin will clear up, I promise! Here’s why- the whey proteins, sugars, and other hormones in milk are pro-inflammatory, have a high glycemic index, and create hormones our body would otherwise not make… which will *most likely* manifest into acne and rosacea. If you don’t believe me, look it up! 3. Exfoliate, moisturize, wear SPF daily, and get an occasional facial! Ask for my skin care products or esthetician recommendations!
-
Can I hire you for "just eyes" or "just face"?"Unfortunately I am not available for partial makeup services. For a look to be whole, complete and to represent my work, the makeup will need to be done by me from start to finish. This will also ensure the makeup will last all day. Unfortunately I do not touch up or do work or modification on other artist's work if there will be more than 1 makeup artist for your bridal party.
-
What does a typical makeup application look like? The skin will be prepped for makeup by removing any excess makeup or dirt on the skin. Moisturizer and primer is applied according to your skin type. Eye makeup will be done prior to the foundation to avoid eye shadow "fallout". Contour, bronzer, blush and highlighter are completed. Brows will be filled in next. Lashes are then applied following a lip color. The look is completed with setting powder and finishing spray.
-
How do I keep mascara from transfering on my lid/lash line?1. If you’re the type who has long lashes that touch above your lid constantly (lucky you), use normal mascara, but then add waterproof to the tips of your lashes. That way, when you blink, the mascara formula won’t transfer. When you remove the formula at night—because you only have a bit of it on—it will be much easier to take off and overall less aggressive on your eyes. Yay! 2. Always keep in mind, oil breaks down makeup. Even waterproof makeup. The tiniest bit of natural oils that occur on your eyelids will eventually start to break down your mascara throughout the day. Try setting your eyelids with an eyelid primer then setting powder, OR a matte foundation then setting powder. Finish with a matte (not dewy) setting spray.
-
Why are false eyelashes recommended and can I opt out of using them?In my opinion, false eyelashes complete a full makeup look. It is the finishing touch that adds that extra glam and sparkle to any look whether it be natural or dramatic. If you wear lash extensions, you may opt out of having additional false lashes applied. I will always carry a range of natural to dramatic false lashes for each client to choose from.

What's your cancellation policy? For bridal clients: cancellations must be made at least 90 days prior to the client’s reserved date, or the $50 deposit is no longer refundable. If paid in advance, the remaining balance is fully refundable if canceled at least 60 days prior to the reserved date. For all other clients: there is no cancellation fee!

Can I book an "everyday makeup" lesson?"Absolutley! These makeup lessons are meant to teach you how to achieve whatever makeup style you're curious to learn, and to answer ANY questions along the way. The choice is yours.
-
What does a typical makeup lesson look like? Each lesson will take about 1.5-2 hours. During our time I will talk you through each step of the makeup application process explaining the products, techniques, and answer any questions along the way. Often clients find it helpful to apply the makeup on one side of their face right after I have demonstrated and applied makeup to the other side. E.g. I explain and apply eyeliner to your right eye, then following my guidance and techniques, you apply eyeliner to your left eye. We can repeat this process for the entire makeup application if that's how you learn best!
-
Do you offer group lessons?I only offer private one-on-one lessons at this time. If you would like to bring a friend or two (max) you can, but I will only work on one model and won't be able to work on multiple people at once. If others join for the lesson, they can follow along with their own makeup or simply be there to listen!
